The DADS charity Board of Trustees met on the 5th November to review the current status of the Charity and its future football outreach programme.

Primary focus will be on building the capacity of the Board of Trustees and increase to a minimum of five new Trustees by April 2009.

The Football outreach programme will focus on Fair Play football education and non-refferee matches, this is in line with the membership of the global Berlin-based streetfootballworld network.

There will be a single focus on events, football outreach and fundraising for the South Africa World Cup in 2010. Fundraising will be targeted at small grants as opposed to the larger administrative and output focused grants, there will be opportunity for commissioned work with project and administrative management fees paid at a rate negotiated with the Board of Trustees.

The DADs football team with a new kit, will play four charity fundraising matches per year against celebrity and organised teams including playing for the new annual DADs Trophy, which again will be focused on Fair Play football without a referee.

There will be a new Volunteer Policy, created to ensure that those who participate in DADs outreach are doing it for the right reasons, that they [volunteers and beneficiaries] will sign a declaration of good faith and abide by the objects set by the Charity.

Local consortia development will continue, including the continued development of the national UK membership of streetfootballworld network, whose first event was held in Liverpool recently. International developments will continue within the framework of streetfootballworld and also plan to cooperate more closely with our streetfootballworld partner Capital Area Soccer League in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Football & Freedom Limited not-for-profit social enterprise through its profits will support DADs in the future, but Football & Freedom will be totally independent of the DADs charity.

Overall the Trustees were proud of the acheivements in 2009, in particular reiterating their support for the workers and volunteers and with positive enthusiasm kick forward the second phase of the award winning work in 2009 and beyond.
