DADs volunteer invited to Council of Europe Seminar on Intercultural networking and exchange through sport. The award winning Dads Against Drugs football charity received an invitation through global streetfootballworld partners to apply to be part of a select group of forty youths from all over Europe to participate in a four day seminar at the European Youth Centre, in activities of youth and sport.
The main focus of the event will be to explore the concept of youth participation, intercultural dialogue and building lasting partnerships throughout Europe. Long term DADs volunteer Tom Mulley, aged 19 was successful with the application and will be travelling to Strasbourg on Saturday 7th November by rail via London and Paris and Strasbourg.
Tom Mulley said “this is a fantastic opportunity for me to meet people from all over Europe to share information and build bridges to create opportunity for exchange and networking, thanks to DADs, this is something that I would never have thought possible for myself and I am really looking forward to the experience”.
Rob Broomfield DADs Founder said “we are really pleased to have Tom selected, a lot of work at the moment is focused on enabling young people to travel and network internationally on behalf of DADs, we are really proud that a DADs beneficiary and volunteer has been selected for this ground-breaking event, representing DADs and the Hull & East Riding”. The seminar is fully supported and funded by the Council of Europe, Directorate of Youth & Sport, European Youth Centre Strasbourg.
NOTES to the editor: Dads Against Drugs (DADs) are a Hull based charity who educate young people about the dangers of drugs through football & rugby coaching. DADs won a Tackling Drugs Changing Lives award in 2006.

In 2010 DADs will represent the Hull & East Riding & England at the Football for Hope Festival in Johannesburg, South Africa, an official FIFA World Cup event.
