The first thoughts of the DAD’s football team were about playing the odd game of football here and there, arranging drug awareness courses for parents and getting the kids involved in a few organised fun days. Gradually we’ve realised the true potential of DAD’s, and started planning for all sorts of things including youth programmes, scholarships and football theatre.
So what’s football theatre? it’s just one of those ideas to get people thinking, singing, writing and performing about the things that matter most to them, its about getting football into the theatre, coupled with the opportunity to promote drug awareness and other important social issues, its about real people and the issues that concern them, and about getting them involved in something they might not otherwise do.
The Football Theatre Programme includes drama, music and short film-making. These programmes will help DAD's to create positive working partnerships, which will encourage our members to create their own stories and themes based on their experiences.
